DHAKA: Finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith said that China is interested to invest 350 million USD in textile sector in Bangladesh.
The minister made this disclosure to the media after signing an agreement on ‘Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre’ project at finance ministry conference room in city on Tuesday.
Moreover, the country of world’s second largest economy also wants to invest in the projects for railway, jute and bridge, Muhith added.
According to the finance minister, China has proposed to establish an industrial park, creating job opportunity for 2,000 workers.
Earlier, the visiting China commerce minister Gao Hucheng and Bangladesh finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith signed the agreement on behalf of their respective countries.
High-ups of finance ministry, Economic Relations Division and China commerce ministry and China embassy in Dhaka attended the signing ceremony.
