DHAKA: A two-day international conference will be held in city from October 27 aiming to showcasing Bangladesh Buddhist heritage to the foreigners as well as flourishing overall tourism.
At least 13 countries will participate at the conference titled ‘National Buddhist Workshop and International Buddhist Circuit Conference’ at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in city.
Civil aviation and tourism minister Rashed Khan Menon made the disclosure at a press conference held at Secretariat on Sunday.
He said the upcoming conference, to be organized by civil aviation and tourism ministry, will uphold the centuries-old Buddhist heritage in Bangladesh to people of the participating countries.
Secretary Khorshed Alam Chowdhury, additional secretaries Swapan Kumar Sarkar and Rafiquzzaman and Parjatan Corporation chairman Dr Arup Roy were also present at the press conference.
