Stocks start week negative

DHAKA:  Investors witnessed fall in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.

DSEX, the key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, shed over 21.84 points only to stand at 4790.97 at the close of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 91139 with volume of transactions at Tk 3503.52 million.

Of the issues traded, 104 advanced, 166 declined and 44 remained unchanged.



TITASGAS topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 197.56 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were SQURPHARMA, SPCL, UPGDCL, BARKAPOWER, CVOPRL, LAFSURCEML, FARCHEM, AL-HAJTEX and BBS.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8934.27 by dropping over 36.34 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 69 gained, 136 declined and 33 remained unchanged.
