DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina commented that her Awami League government always supports expansion of business.
‘We always work to create a business and businesspeople-friendly environment to expand trade. We create opportunity for economic development,’ she added.
The PM asserted these when the newly elected leaders of Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI), led by its president Abdul Matlub Ahmad, made a courtesy call to her at PMO in city on Thursday.
PM’s press secretary Ihsanul Karim informed the journalists after the meeting.
The premier further said that her incumbent government is working to bring the interest rate in a single digit.
She also put importance to expand domestic market avoiding dependency on export.
The PM called the businesspeople to invest in exploiting marine resources.
Encouraging them in giving taxes, she said that the tax money will be sent for the betterment of the businesspeople.
