DHAKA: The mobile court of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) fined city’s two pharmacies Lazz and Tazrin Tk 6 lakh on allegation of selling non-approved medicines.
Confirming the matter to banglanews, executive magistrate Firoz Ahmed of RAB-1 said they conducted the drive at Kolabagan in city Thursday afternoon and fined the drug shops.
The medicines, which the pharmacies were selling for heart, kidney, cancer and other diseases, have no permission to import.
So, RAB seized the medicines from the stores, he added.
Bangladesh Standard and Testing Institute (BSTI) field officer M Khalid, Drug Administration superintendent Golam Kibria, among others, were present during the raid.
