DHAKA: Northeast Electric Power Engineering Company (NEPC), the project implementing organization, will use Bashundhara Cement in the construction of infrastructure of proposed Ghorashal 300-450 megawatt gas-fired combined cycle power plant in Narsingdi.
An agreement was signed between NEPC and Bashundhara Cement, a business concern of country’s leading conglomerate Bashundhara Group (BG), at hotel Le Meridian in city on Wednesday.
BG managing director (MD) Sayem Sobhan and NEPC project manager Liu Sheng signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
NEPC has decided to use Bashundhara Cement in building the infrastructure of Ghorashal 300-450 megawatt gas-fired combined cycle power plant after inspecting latest ERM technology-enriched country's largest cement factory, its production capacity and verifying its quality assurance systems, said official concerned.
In two years, more than 70 metric tons of cement will be used in the project.
NEPC site manager Long Min and other Bashundhara Cement officials also attended the signing ceremony.
