DHAKA: Telecommunication operator Robi Axiata Limited has offered the facilities of free call till September 26 to know about the condition of Bangladesh pilgrims after the Thursday hajj stampede.
A Robi press release said on Friday (September 25).
According to the release, free call facilities will be provided from any Robi cell phone number to Saudi Arabia.
Moreover, people, who are using Robi roaming service, will also be allowed to call or send SMS to Bangladesh at free of cost, it added.
Earlier on September 24, at least 719 people were killed and another 863 people were injured in a stampede in Mina near Makkah during annual hajj performance.
Robi Axiata also expressed their deep condolence at the death of the pilgrims and prayed for salvation of the departed souls and early recovery of the injured, the release said.
