DSE, CSE start week negative

DHAKA: Investors witnessed significant fall in the benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.

DSEX, the key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, shed over 42.35 points to stand at 4814.60 at the close of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 87301 with transaction at Tk 3368.05 million. Of the issues traded, 56 advanced, 239 declined and 27 remained unchanged.

FARCHEM topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 160.80 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were SAIFPOWER, LAFSURCEML, SAPORTL, SQURPHARMA, AMANFEED, ACI, GP, QSMDRYCELL and BSRMSTEEL.
 
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8983.82 by dropping over 64.14 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 41 gained, 165 declined and 30 remained unchanged.
