Stocks end week negative

DHAKA:  Investors witnessed fall in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Thursday, on the last trading day of the week.

DSEX, the key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), shed over 19.26 points only to stand at 4781.36 at the close of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 89404 with volume of transactions at Tk 3607.74 million.

Of the issues traded, 113 advanced, 161 declined and 41 remained unchanged.



LAFSURCEML topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 180.36 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were BXPHARMA, GP, TRUSTBANK, SAIFPOWER, MHSML, FARCHEM, UNITEDAIR, OLYMPIC and PREMIERCEM.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8913.20 by dropping over 43.00 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 75 gained, 131 declined and 27 remained unchanged.
