Stocks end lower Wednesday

DHAKA:  Investors witnessed minor fall in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Wednesday, the fourth trading day of the week.

DSEX, the key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, shed over 63.58 points only to stand at 4716.08 at the close of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 75803 with volume of transactions at Tk 3089.09 million.

Of the issues traded, 51 advanced, 241 declined and 26 remained unchanged.



BXPHARMA topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 179.37 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were LAFSURCEML, CVOPRL, SAIFPOWER, BRACBANK, SQURPHARMA, GP, FARCHEM, UNITEDAIR and UCBL.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8788.80 by dropping over 116.27 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 30 gained, 199 declined and 19 remained unchanged.
