Le Méridien Dhaka wins its first intl award

DHAKA: Opened only in June, Le Méridien Dhaka has quickly caught the attention of its local and global target audience alike, culminating to having received its first international award within three months into its soft operation.

Presented by Dr Mahesh Sharma, Minister of State (IC) for Tourism & Civil Aviation and Culture Minister of State, Government of India and Professor PJ Kurien, Deputy Chairman, Rajya Sabha, India, the hotel’s General Manager AshwaniNayar received the award for “Most Innovative Design & Luxury Facilities in a Business Hotel, South Asia” at the 11th Hospitality India and Explore the World Annual International Travel Awards.

The event was recently hosted at the Ashok Hotel Convention Hall in New Delhi.

Needless to say the staff and management at Le Méridien Dhaka were highly ecstatic and impressed to have been recognized with such grandeur so early in its history.

“It is a great honor for the hotel in entirety to have been recognized thus,” explained Ashwani. “It was completely unexpected to have received that initial call to be informed that we were nominated and then to have actually won. I am, of course, proud to be a part of this beautiful property and have had the opportunity to share in its glory.”
