DHAKA: Both the subscription and revenue income of country’s largest cell phone operator Grameenphone (GP) have increased than the previous year.
The revenue income in past nine months has increased 1.6 percent and as many as 40 lakh people have been added with the operator as new subscribers.
The organization made this disclosure at a press conference on its past nine months’ scenario at a city hotel on Monday afternoon.
GP chief executive officer (CEO) Rajeev Shethi said that an adverse situation was created in the first quarter of the year due to unrest political situation.
‘But we have overcome the situation successfully,’ he added.
He further said that the operator has seen an increase of data use along with phone calls.
The 40 lakh new subscription has totaled the GP subscribers 55,500,000 so far, the GP high official said.
