Stocks witness fall Wednesday

DHAKA:  Investors witnessed minor fall in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Wednesday, the fourth trading day of the week.

DSEX, the key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, shed over 9.97 points only to stand at 4647.67 at the close of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 84756 with volume of transactions at Tk 3561.79 million.

Of the issues traded, 151 advanced, 133 declined and 33 remained unchanged.

LAFSURCEML topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 226.90 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were BXPHARMA, KDSALTD, SPCL, AMANFEED, BENGALWTL, SAIFPOWER, UCBL, GP and FARCHEM.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8636.58 by dropping over 18.78 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 101 gained, 95 declined and 34 remained unchanged.
