DHAKA: The World Bank has approved USD 1.77 billion as loan to finance 11 projects in 2015-16 fiscal year.
The finance institution’s south Asia region chief economist Martin Rama met planning minister AHM Mustafa Kamal in city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area on Tuesday afternoon.
Meeting sources said that 60 million USD of the WB loan will be provided to River Bank Improvement Project while 25 million USD and 17.7 million USD will be given for Ghorashal Power Plant and National Agricultural Technical programs respectively.
After the meeting, Martin Rama said that WB will work together with the government for the development in the country’s infrastructure, power, gas, education, ICT and other sectors.
