Stocks witness fall Wednesday

DHAKA:  Investors witnessed minor fall in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Wednesday, the fourth trading day of the week.

DSEX, the key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, shed over 9.96 points only to stand at 4579.37 at the close of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 81088 with volume of transactions at Tk 2625.61 million.

Of the issues traded, 123 advanced, 147 declined and 45 remained unchanged.

SINGERBD topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 129.76 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were LAFSURCEML, KDSALTD, CNATEX, UNITEDAIR, CVOPRL, SPCL, MIRACLEIND, SQURPHARMA and UCBL.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8512.90 by dropping over 17.27 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 80 gained, 120 declined and 35 remained unchanged.
