DHAKA: Investors witnessed significant fall in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses--Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.
DSEX, the key index of DSE, shed over 49.63 points only to stand at 4514.85 at the close of day’s trading.
Trade deals stood at 83105 with volume of transactions at Tk 2678.41 million.
Of the issues traded, 48 advanced, 242 declined and 27 remained unchanged.
KPCL topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 114.71 million having changed hands.
The other turnover leaders were LAFSURCEML, IFADAUTOS, SAMORITA, KDSALTD, SPCL, BXPHARMA, AMANFEED, CNATEX and CVOPRL.
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8387.40 by dropping over 104.21 points.
Out of the issues traded, 27 gained, 186 declined and 16 remained unchanged.
