DHAKA: Two-day Bangladesh Development Forum (BDF), an assembly of development partners, is set to begin on Sunday in city with the view to find ways to implement 7th Five-Year Plan and the post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Finance ministry’s Economic Relations Division (ERD) senior secretary Mohammad Mejbahuddin came up with the disclosure at a press briefing organized at ERD office in city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area on Saturday.
He said the forum will feature seven sessions. The main session will be on management of country’s macro economy.
Six other sessions will be held on agriculture, food security and climate change, strengthening the base of country’s economy, good governance and development, health and quality education, and bringing the issues of social security and gender parity under the main stream of development activities.
Mohammad Mejbahuddin said there will be 41 stalls; of them, 16 will be setup by development partners, eight by NGOs and the rest will be government stalls, to highlight various facets of development activities in the country.
Earlier, the forum was organized in 2010.
