DHAKA: A three-day Bangladesh Travel and Tourism Fair (BTTF) will be inaugurated at city’s Bashundhara International Convention Center (BICC) on November 19.
Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB) confirmed the matter at a press conference at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) auditorium in city on Tuesday.
TOAB president Dr Akbar Uddin Ahmed said a total of 160 national and international stalls will be setup in the fair.
In past three years the organizers lost Tk 15,000 crore, but they do not want financial help, he added.
Bangladesh Bank can establish a special fund for them as a part of its policy assistance to tourism sector, TOAB president opined.
According to him, national and international tour agencies, travel agents, airlines, hotels, resorts, banks and educational institutions, among other institutions, will take part in the fair.
The organizers will also offer different packages with special discount.
Entry fee of the fair is Tk 20 and it will remain open at 10:00am everyday till November 21.
TOAB’s first vice-president Mohammad Rafeuzzaman and vice-president SM Hafizur Rahman, among others, were present at the press conference.
