DHAKA: The 5th of 10 Boeing of the fleet of Biman has added in the fleet. This 162-seat Boeing 737-800 will arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Friday (November 27).
After joining of the next generation Boeing 737-800, the number of aircraft of the fleet is 13 now, a Boman press release said on Thursday.
According to the release, another Boeing 737-800 would be added by December this year. The next on the Boeing 737-800 is joining the fleet in the next month.
Earlier in 2008, the airline went into an agreement with Boeing Company for acquisition of 10 new generation aircraft of 4 Boeing 777-300ERs, 2 Boeing 737-800 and 4 Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the biggest ever deal in the history of the airline.
Boeing has already delivered four Boeing 777-300ER aircraft to Biman.
Presently Biman flies to 15 destinations of Middle East, Europe and Asia. With a new, bigger and younger fleet Biman aspires to expand fast and the possible destinations and will enable to resume the operation where it had operations.
As per agreement Boeing is scheduled to deliver 04 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft by 2019/2020.
