IDB signs accord to set up permanent office in Bangladesh

RIYADH: Bangladesh finance minister AMA Muhith and chairman of Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali Al-Madani signed an agreement in Jeddah of Saudi Arabia on Thursday night (local time) about setting up a permanent office of the organization in Dhaka.

The accord, titled Host Country Agreement, will allow IDB to continue its works from here.

Muhith said the accord will help transforming the IDB country gateway in Dhaka into a permanent office.

Bangladesh Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Golam Masih, consul general of Jeddah consulate AKM Shahidul Karim, deputy-head of mission Najrul Islam, economic councilor Abul Hasan, ERD additional secretary Selim Reza, deputy secretary Hasan Khaled Foysal, FBCCI vice-president Mahbubul Alam and councilor of Jeddah Mokammel were, among others, present in the signing ceremony here.
