DHAKA: Visiting World Bank (WB) senior vice-president and also chief economist Kaushik Basu commented that Bangladesh will attain 6.5 percent GDP in current fiscal year.
The country will achieve 6.7 percent GDP next year, he predicted.
The visiting WB official made the assertion at a seminar titled ‘The World Economy, Bangladesh and Regional Cooperation: Problem and Prospect’ organized by Bangladesh Bank at Bangabandhu International Convention Centre in city on Sunday.
Earlier on December 10, Bangladesh finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith categorically said that the country will attain 7 percent GDP.
