Robi retains ISO 9001 standards for quality management

DHAKA: Leading mobile phone operator, Robi has retained the ISO 9001 standard for the tenth year.

Robi will be considered as the first operator to have attained this coveted standard in Bangladesh.

The conformance of this standard once again demonstrates Robi’s unwavering commitment to provide quality product and service to its valued subscribers, said a press release.

According to the release, Intertek Bangladesh director Dr Karthik ND has recently handed over the ISO 9001 certificate to Robi managing director and CEO Supun Weerasinghe.

Robi chief operating officer (COO) Mahtab Uddin Ahmed was present on the occasion. The certificate handover ceremony took place at Robi Corporate Office (RCO) in city.

Robi vice-president, Mohammad Sultan Mahmud and general manager, Fazle Rabbi were present at the certificate handover ceremony. Intertek Bangladesh’s National Head for Business Assurance Emdad Ul Haque and Assistant Manager, Business Layes Khan were also present on the occasion.

ISO 9001 standard defines requirements for Quality Management System in an organization.

It requires an organization to establish and maintain necessary process and deploy resources in order to achieve customer satisfaction through ensuring quality of product and services.

It also promotes continual improvement of existing processes and practices, the release added.
