DHAKA: Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayor Annisul Huq urged the government to keep an eye on this sector to build planned housing.
‘Taka thousands of crores are being laundered from our country. The opportunity to invest in housing sector of the country will stop drain out the money,’ the mayor added.
The mayor made the assertion while talking to representatives of the housing industry. He paid a visit to different stalls on Saturday, the fourth day of Real Estate & Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) fair.
REHAB president Alamgir Shamsul Alamin and officers of the organization were also present during the time.
Annisul Huq also sought the attention of the representatives of the housing industry participating in the fair to build well-planed houses.
Mayor’s business firm Mohammadi Group also joined the fair. During the visit, he also visited Mohammadi Developments Limited.
After visiting the fair, the mayor exchanged views with REHAB officials.
The five-day REHAB Fair-2015, which started at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in city on Wednesday (December 23), will continue till December 27.
The fair will remain open from 10:00am to 9:00pm everyday while the entry fee will be Tk 50 for each person and multiple tickets for Tk 100.
There are 95 stalls of different real-estate companies including building materials companies and financial institutions.
