DHAKA: Investors witnessed significant gain in the benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Thursday (December 31), the last day of the outgoing year 2015.
DSEX, the key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, rose over 24.72 points to stand at 4629.64 at the close on the last trading day of the week.
Trade deals stood at 96535 with transaction at Tk 4343.95 million. Of the issues traded, 133 advanced, 141 declined and 50 remained unchanged.
EMERALDOIL topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 187.90 million having changed hands.
The other turnover leaders were SAPORTL, SQURPHARMA, QSMDRYCELL, OLYMPIC, BXPHARMA, ACI, BEXIMCO, BSRMLTD and ACIFORMULA.
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8572.12 by gaining over 36.56 points.
Out of the issues traded, 90 gained, 108 declined and 30 remained unchanged.
