DHAKA: Bangladesh is set to purchase power from Tripura of India with Tk 6.43 per unit.
The rate was fixed at a high-level official meeting between the two neighboring countries at Pan Pacific Sonargaon hotel in city on Saturday (January 9).
Power, Energy and Mineral Resources state minister Nasrul Hamid attended the meeting with secretary Monoarul Islam, addition secretary Dr Ahmed Kawsar and other high-officials of the ministry.
On the other side, Tripura state government power minister Manik Dey and central government power ministry director Ghanshyam Prasad, Tripura state power department chief secretary SK Rakesh and AGM Mahananda Debbarma were present.
Bangladesh has been constructing 27.8-km transmission lines through Comilla’s Kasba Thana and India is constructing 24-km lines inside their territory.
