DHAKA: Prime Minster Sheikh Hasina commented that her government has encountered the conspiracies against country’s booming readymade garments (RMG) sector.
‘The plot against RMG was not only in national level, it was also in international level,’ she added.
The premier made this assertion while talking with the leaders of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) at PMO in city on Sunday (January 17).
According to the PM, several kinds of hindrance, centering the incidents, were created to halt RMG export.
‘These conspiracies were created both in national and international levels, she further said adding, ‘and we have encountered them’.
The conspirators could not succeed as the government took necessary steps to face the plots, she added.
‘The government has also taken measures to face the disasters created due to Rana Plaza collapse and Tazreen Fashion fire.’
Upholding several initiatives taken by the government, the premier said, ‘Awami League government has ensured a friendly environment so that businesspeople can run their business smoothly’.
‘We did not assume power to do business rather we have come to power to ensure a business-friendly environment.’
