DHAKA: A four-day international plastic summit will begin at Bangabandhu International Conference Center in city on Wednesday (January 20).
Industries minister Amir Hossain Amu will inaugurate the summit aiming to increase the use and export of plastic products.
Bangladesh Plastic Goods Manufacturer and Exporter Association (BPGMEA) will organize the event with the participation of 21 countries.
BPGMEA president Jasim Uddin disclosed the matter at a press conference in city’s Purana Paltan area on Monday (January 18).
In a written speech, he said that as many as 350 stalls will be setup at the summit ground displaying machineries, raw materials and finished products.
Moreover, seminar and conference will be arranged during the summit, to provide information regarding plastic waste management.
He also said that planning minister AHM Mustafa Kamal is expected to be present as chief guest on the concluding ceremony of the summit.
