President Mohammed Shahabuddin has appointed Professor Dr Satya Prasad Majumder as the vice- chancellor of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).

The President reappointed Dr Satya for the second term as per Section 11 (1) and (2) of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology Ordinance, 1961, a Secondary and Higher Education Directorate notification said on Wednesday.

He was reappointed as the BUET vice- chancellor on several conditions that include his tenure will be four years from the date of joining; he will always stay on the university campus as the chief executive officer of the institution, and chancellor may cancel his appointment at anytime.

Prof Dr Satya Prasad Majumder told journalists that he received a letter of the notification and will take charge as per rules.
