Students of Government Titumir College blocked the Mohakhali rail track and Amtoli road in Dhaka, demanding the college be upgraded to a full-fledged university.

The protest, which took place this afternoon (Nov 18), caused severe traffic congestion in the area.

Siam, a student of the college, said they have been demanding university status for a long time but no steps have been taken yet. 

"We will not leave the street until our demand is met," he added.

Tejgaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Mobarak Hossain told Banglanews that students of Titumir College staged the blockade to press for their demand, which resulted in heavy traffic congestion in the area.
