Bangladesh University of Engineering (BUET) vice chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Satya Prasad Majumder has resigned today (August 18).

Earlier, on July, 3, this year President Mohammed Shahabuddin reappointed the BUET VC for the second term as per Section 11 (1) and (2) of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology Ordinance, 1961.

Dr Satya has submitted his resignation letter to the chancellor of the university and the secretary of the secondary and higher education department of the Ministry of Education.

In the letter Dr Satya mentioned that due to personal reasons he no longer be able to uphold responsibilities entrusted on him.
