Prof Niaz Ahmed Khan is likely to be appointed as the vice-chancellor of Dhaka University.

Confirming the matter on Monday, the interim government’s high-rank officials said President Mohammed Shahabuddin, also the chancellor of the university, has given his consent for the appointment.

Niaz Ahmed is a professor of the Department of Development Studies of Dhaka University. He also served as the pro-vice-chancellor of Independent University of Bangladesh (IUB).
