DHAKA: Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid Monday warned the owners of country’s private universities’ to stop awarding certificates without teaching.

The Minister was talking to journalists a day after the parliament passed the Private University Act- 2010.

“All kinds of corruptions and irregularities in private universities will be barred through the new act”, said the minister.

“The opinions of owners of the private universities were taken into consideration while drafting the law,” he said.
