Five dengue patients died and 873 more people were hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease across the country in the last 24 hours till Monday (Oct 31) morning.

In the 24 hours, 545 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka, said the DGHS release.

However, 328 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 2,309 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 1,275 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Some 38,024 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue till today while 34,299 patients returned home after recovery since January 1.

However, this year a total 141 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered in last year. A total of 105 died from the mosquito-borne disease during that time.
