Another dengue patient died and 172 were admitted to hospitals across the country, according to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). 

During the same period, 67 dengue patients were hospitalized in Dhaka and rest outside the capital.

This year, the total number of cases rose to 100,366 while 564 deaths from dengue disease were reported during the period, the statement added.

As of December 22, a total of 98,840 dengue patients were discharged, with 273 released in last 24 hour. 

In 2023, from January 1 to December 31, the country recorded 321,179 hospitalizations and 1,705 deaths due to dengue, marking one of the worst outbreaks in recent history.
