After administering shots to over 4,300 healthcare workers on the opening day, COVID-19 vaccination teams across the national capital started to give vaccines to more medical staff at various hospitals on Monday.

Officials said that the vaccination drive started at the Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital at 10 am.

The police in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow have filed a case against the makers of web series Tandav and the head of media service airing it after it recently ran into controversy over scenes allegedly insulting Hindu gods.

India added 13,788 coronavirus cases on Monday, placing its overall number at 1.05 crore cases, the Health Ministry's data showed. The number of fresh infections reported on Monday were 9 per cent lower than on Sunday. In this period, India reported 145 deaths linked to the virus, taking the total number of fatalities to 1,52,419.

Over 17,000 people were vaccinated across six states on Day 2 of the nationwide coronavirus drive, the Health Ministry said Sunday evening, adding that this takes the total number of people vaccinated so far to around 2.24 lakh.

Meanwhile, the protesting farmers refused to call off their Republic Day tractor rally on Sunday, and said the probe by the National Investigation Agency is meant to break their big protest. On Sunday, as the agency summoned 40 people -- Including farmer leader Baldev Singh Sirsa -- for questioning in a case related to the banned outfit Sikhs For Justice, farmers alleged that the government has resorted to "atrocities".  The government is opposing the tractor rally legally -- the matter will be heard by the Supreme Court today.
