Bangladesh today confirmed 25 deaths from coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 8,763.
According to the Health authorities, 3,567 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours raising the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 580,808. This is the highest in a single day since July 2, 2020, almost 8 months ago when the country saw 4,019 cases.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the update of the country’s coronavirus situation issuing a press release this afternoon.
Some 1,915 people made recovery from the deadly virus in the same period, bringing the total recoveries to 5,27,909, according to the release.
Meanwhile, 27,502 samples were tested in 219 labs across the country in the past 24 hours. A total of 44,87,686 samples have been tested in the country so far.
Bangladesh reported its first Coronavirus case on March 8 in last year while first death on March 18 in that year.
