Bangladesh today confirmed 59 deaths from coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 9,105.
According to the Health authorities, 6,469 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours raising the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 617,764.
This is the highest in a single day spike after the country had reported its first case on March 8 in last year.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the update of the country’s coronavirus situation issuing a press release this afternoon.
Another 2,539 people recovered from COVID-19 through treatment at home and in hospital care in the same period, bringing the tally of recoveries to 544,938.
Meanwhile, 28,198 samples were tested in 226 labs across the country in the past 24 hours. A total of 4,698,774 samples have been tested in the country so far.
