Bangladesh on Tuesday recorded 66 deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours - the highest single-day death toll reported in the country. 

With the latest figure, the number of total fatalities now stands at 9,384. 

Besides, 7,213 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours raising the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 651,652. This is the highest in a single day spike after the country had reported its first case on March 8 in last year.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the update of the country’s coronavirus situation issuing a press release this afternoon.

Bangladesh reported its first Coronavirus case on March 8 in last year while first death on March 18 in that year.
