India recorded 27,176 new Covid-19 cases and 284 deaths in the last 24 hours. Kerala continues to be the top-most contributor with 15,876 infections. 

The active cases have come down to 3.51 lakh. Less than 50,000 daily cases have been reported for 80 consecutive days now.

On Tuesday, West Bengal recorded 703 new Covid-19 cases. The overall toll rose to 18,599 with 12 fresh fatalities. In North 24 Parganas there were 138 fresh Covid-19 cases reported along with five deaths. 

North Parganas topped in terms of Covid-19 tally. Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, Kolkata logged 127 cases and three deaths. The number of samples tested in a day was 35,998 and the positivity rate was at 1.95 per cent.

For the sixth consecutive day, Nagaland witnessed an increase in recovery cases from Covid-19 infection. On Tuesday, there were 43 recovery cases and 37 new Covid-19 cases. 

The cumulative Covid-19 tally in Nagaland is 30,694 after the new cases. Recovery rate among Covid-19 patients was 92.97 per cent. A total of 937,570 doses of vaccines have been administered to 671,661 people in Nagaland as of Monday, said State Immunisation Officer Dr. Ritu Thurr.
