One dies of dengue, 635 hospitalised in last 24 hours

One more dengue patient died and 635 people were hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease across the country in the last 24 hours Saturday (Oct 1), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 518 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka, said the DGHS release.

However, 117 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 1,658 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 500 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Some 16,727 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue till today while 14,513 patients returned home after recovery since January 1.

However, this year a total 56 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered in last year. A total of 105 died from the mosquito-borne disease during that time.
