Dengue: 7 die, 864 hospitalised in last 24 hours

Seven dengue patients died and 864 more people were hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease across the country in the last 24 hours Wednesday (Oct 19).

In the 24 hours, 565 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka, said the DGHS release.

However, 299 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 2,247 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals of Dhaka while 1,057 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Some 27,802 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue till today while 24,392 patients returned home after recovery since January 1.

However, this year a total 106 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today. 

However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year. A total of 105 died from the mosquito-borne disease during that time.
