Former Chief Justice Mohammad Fazlul Karim has died at the age of 79.

He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the capital at 4:43 am Saturday (November 16).

The Supreme Court administration confirmed the matter. 

His namaj-e-janaza will take place at 1:30 pm in the Supreme Court Garden.

Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed expressed deep sorrow over the death of Justice Fazlul Karim, praying for the eternal peace of his soul.

Justice Mohammad Fazlul Karim, a senior judge of the Appellate Division, was appointed Chief Justice on 4 February 2010 and retired on 30 September of the same year.
