Nayakraj
-Mohibul Aziz
(A poetic tribute to Nayakraj Razzak who left us on August 21, 2017.)
It's you who made me truant,
Your films on the screen were my lessons.
The boy from the alley, a terrible infant,
Started measuring life with new emotions.
From 'No 13 Feku Ostagar Lane' to 'Rangbaj',
Solely you were my hero, my 'Nayakraj'.
I knew how blacks and whites become colourful,
How the love and hate turn to tears;
And the matters of the hearts could be enigmas-
Women might reign over the youths years after years.
You fought against culprits, even sacrificed your self,
Brought freedom to the subalterns in the long run.
Thousands got rescued by dint of your help,
Tyrants feared you, it's not fun.
May be, all those happened on the big curtain,
The morales you consigned, we still pertain.
Now, you, are far away, disappeared in distance,
'Nayakraj' is a real rex too, a great human instance.
