DHAKA: Opposition BNP joint general secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed on Saturday alleged that the government has pushed the country to atrocity.
The BNP leader made the assertion in a press briefing at the party headquarters in the evening.
He said, “The government has become an autocrat by unleashing violence to repress opposition, using law enforcing agencies and armed party activists.”
Terming ruling party’s recent repressive stand as full of atrocity he said, “They are trying to hold the power illegally but it is not viable as 16 crore countrymen are awake against the conspiracy.”
Rizvi also urged the people from all walks of life to cooperate with the opposition in recent protest by opposition.
Earlier in the day, BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the hartal, from November 4-6, demanding a free and fair election under the caretaker polls-time government.
