DHAKA: Law enforcing agencies have taken tight security measures in the capital on Sunday centering Jamaat-Shibir’s violence during the first day of 84-hour hartal called by 18-party alliance.
Innumerable police forces were deployed surrounding the BNP central office at Nayapaltan in the city.
Banglanews correspondents report from several spots: Additional police forces were seen patrolling in city’s Pragati Sarani, Rampura, Malibagh, Shahjahanpur, Khilgaon, Shantinagar, Bijoynagar, Paltan, Matijheel, Jatrabari, Shahbagh, Farmgate, Gabtali, Mirpur, Dhanmandi area from early hours of the day.
Demra Zone Assistant Police Commissioner Minhazul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Gulshan division assistant police commissioner Nurul Alam told banglanews, “Tight security measures have been taken in whole area of the division. Apprehending the subversive acts, police forces have kept on alert.
