Govt change in India won’t afftect BD politics

TANGAIL: Communications Minister Obaidul Quader on Saturday said the change of the government in India would not affect the politics of Bangladesh.

The minister came up with the observation while talking to journalists after visiting Joydebpur-Chandra-Tangail-Elenga road here in the morning.

Obaidul Quader said no one interferes in the domestic politics of neighboring countries, after the changes of ruler in any country.

He said, “India is our closest neighbor. We have very good relations with them and the change of government will not affect the politics of Bangladesh.”

He also admitted that there were some problems existing in the relations between these neighboring countries.

Obaidul Quader said the Bangladesh government would invite next government in India to solve Teesta water agreement and the implementation of the 1974 border agreement.

The ruling Awami League lawmaker said the Joydebpur-Chandra-Tangail-Elenga road would be developed as four lanes involving Tk 3,067 crore approximately, including five flyovers, 26 bridges and 60 connecting culverts.

Tangail-7 (Mirzapur) MP Ekabbar Hossain, Tangail Deputy Commissioner Anisur Rahman Mia, Police Super Saleh Mohammad Tanvir, Tangail Municipality Mayor Sahidur Rahman Khan Mukti and Kalihati Upazila Chairman Mozaharul Islam were among others present ob the occasion.
