DHAKA: BNP Senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman is the son of country’s first president; Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (JAGPA) Chairperson Shafiul Alam Pradhan said that on Wednesday.

He came to this assertion while addressing the 34th anniversary of the establishment of JAGPA at Diploma Engineers’ Institute in the capital.

Shafiul Alam Pradhan added that Tarique Rahman is revealing the truth of the history, while BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia was also there.

Mentioning torture against Khaleda and Tarique, happened nowhere in the world, he said peoples rejected the January 5 polls.

Among others BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, National Democratic Party (NDP) Chairperson Golam Mortaza, Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) General Secretary Redone Ahmed and Khelafote Andolan Amir Mawlana Ishak spoke there.
