CHAPAINAWABGANJ: Joint force members detained some 22 leaders and activists Jamaat-e-Islami and its associate body Islami Chhatra Shibir from different places of Sadar and Shibganj upazilas of the district from Friday midnight to Saturday dawn.

A joint force of police, Rapid Action Battalion and Border Guard Bangladesh drove the operations.

Details of the detainees could not be known immediately. Of them, 10 people are from Sadar upazila and remaining 12 are from Shibganj. They are under police custody now.

BGB-9 battalion revealed the detention information on Saturday morning through a press release to the journalists.
