Fakhrul terms N’ganj drives eye-wash

FROM NATIONAL PRESS CLUB: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir termed the drives in Narayanganj as eye-wash.

He came up with the allegation while addressing a mass hunger strike at National Press Club in city on Sunday.

Fakhrul said that the people are outraged and the government launched drives at Noor Hossain’s house to divert the people’s attention to another issue.

They are trying to switch the real situation in the name of investigations.

The BNP leader also said that everyone has to protest of such type of situation. The country is now being ruled by one person.

Earlier, BNP started countrywide mass hunger strike on Sunday protesting ‘forced disappearances and killings’.

On the other hand, additional security measures have been taken in the National Press Club area to avoid any untoward sitution.

BNP Standing Committee Members MK Anwar and Mirza Abbas, Vice-Chairmen Major (retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, Selima Rahman and Chowdhury Kamal Ibne Yusuf; BNP Chairperson’s Advisors Barrister Shahjahan Omar, Shamsuzzaman Dudu, AZM Zahid Hossain and Advocate Joynal Abedin and Organizing Secretary Asadul Habib Dulu, among others, were present in the program.
