JHENAIDAH: Chhatra League, a faction of Juba League and Swechhasebak League called dawn-to-dusk hartal in Jhenaidah for Wednesday.

The hartal was called protesting the case filed against central Swecchasebak League joint secretary Saidul Karim Mintu, also municipality mayor and Bus-Minibus Owners Union president Rokonnuzaman Ranu for their alleged involvement in killing of workers’ leader Abdul Gaffar Biswas.

Earlier, a case was filed against Saidul Karim Mintu and Rokonnuzaman Ranu on Monday evening.

On Monday, general secretary of Jhenaidah Bus-Minibus Workers Union Abdul Gaffar Biswas was chopped to death by miscreants in Arappur area of the town.

Meanwhile, Sramik Oikkya Parishad observed daylong hartal on Tuesday in the district protesting the killing of Abdul Gaffar Biswas.
